How to Report in the EDDMapS App

We need your help! Please submit your Early Detection Rapid Response and Invasive species surveys! Make sure to edit your "User Group" to Pacific Northwest Invasive Plant Council in your EDDMapS profile, so we can get your reports directly. When we get these reports we can get in touch with the land managers of the invested areas and get them involved.

1. Click on "New Sighting" in the app

Click on "New Sighting" if you find an Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) Species that you want to report.
Select "Negative Sighting" if you conducted a survey but didn't find the species you were looking for

2. Add the species you have found

Click on "Select a Subject" for Android devices
Click on "Add/E...pecies" on Apple devices

3. Search for the species you found

You can use the magnifying glass icon to search for the species name
Once you select your species it will bring you back to the survey screen.

4. Add photos of the species you found

Click on the circled icons shown below to add photos
These pictures are used to verify your plant ID, so make sure to capture identifying features of your species
Add several photos to help with the identification process

5. Fill out the rest of the form to the best of your ability

Click "Save" after you finish filling out the form and it will bring you back to the main screen
You can repeat the process for each sighting on your survey and upload all of the reports at the end of your survey.

6. Uploading your surveys

Click on "Upload Queue" on the home screen
For Android users, click on the arrow in the upper right, and all your records are submitted
For Apple users, click on "Actions" and select all the records you want to upload, then click "Upload" in the lower right to finish
